Learn in the school of the National Stud Farm!
De praeteritis gloriosis in futura digna!
The vocational training in Mezőhegyes was initiated in 1911 by the labour needs of the world-famous stud farm, and the current owner of the school is the National Stud and Educational Farm.
The school’s motto expresses its objective to renew agricultural vocational training: “From a glorious past to a worthy future!”
About our school
Tradition & Mission
In addition to more than two centuries of tradition in equestrian training, there is a strong local tradition of training field engineers. Since the 1961/1962 academic year, the main profile of vocational training in Mezőhegyes has been the training of agricultural mechanics, the first tractor school in the country to be started here in 1948. The institution’s role in the training of horse riders and agricultural machinery mechanics is outstanding in regional terms, as reflected in its labour market references, its results in examinations and professional competitions, and the fact that it currently welcomes students from 81 different towns.

113 years at the forefront of training agricultural machinery
The School of the Stud Farm provides a 21st century building complex and technology for training. With 37 hectares of permanent training fields, our trainees learn to work the soil using state-of-the-art power and machinery, with measurable results. They get a global view of the full theoretical and practical vertical of crop production, from seed planning to harvesting; they learn about the AgroVIR system and the elements of precision farming introduced on site. The school is the sole and exclusive dual training partner of the school.

Learn in one of Europe's most modern educational farm, in real working conditions!
The units of the Stud Farm - the central machine repair station, the seed processing plant, the 11th manor robotised cattle farm, the 20th and 39th manor stud farms - provide a stable base for vocational training activities. In order to improve the quality of vocational training, cooperation agreements have been concluded with local and regional agricultural operators. Our aim is to organise study trips and external placements, and to involve leading experts from our partners in both theoretical and practical training. For us, sustainable development and environmental protection are priority areas for agricultural innovation.

We train the agricultural professionals of the future
Our professional programme will include robotics and the use of robotic steering, drone technology, 3D imaging and printing, as well as complex agri-informatics skills. We train the farmers of the 21st century and we welcome applications from girls! Master the basics of agroeconomics, learn how agribusiness works, gain international experience, participate in lab work, get involved in applied agricultural research, build your career in Mezőhegyes!

Our scholarship programme
In addition to the state scholarship, our students also receive special benefits from the Stud Farm’s scholarship programme. Summer student work
Host camp
If you like good company, a wide range of leisure activities and a good-paying summer job, and you’re over 15, then this is the place for you!
Since 2018, we have been organising Birtok camp in Mezőhegyes to revive old traditions. The camp appears in the school’s professional programme under the heading “the institution’s tradition system”. In addition to the manual work of hybrid maize cultivation, we also offer vocational programmes for children during their summer internships and a wide range of leisure activities. The groups are led by teachers and school staff, and the rules on student work are strictly observed and enforced with everyone. The 2024 camp starts on 24 June and runs until 31 July, with a capacity of 50 students. Registration closed on 27 May 2024 and the advertised number of participants has been filled. For further information about the camp, please contact Adrienn Fekete, Deputy Director of the Camp, on +36-30-424-4742 and Andrea Ertmanné Sepsik, Administrator, on +36-70-399-1567.
